Can Be Repaired<\/h3>\n

The transducer on a Go Direct Motion Detector<\/a> can<\/i> be replaced in the event of damage. However, there will be a repair fee. Contact support@vernier.com or call 888-837-6437 to set up the repair.<\/p>\n

Cannot Be Repaired<\/h3>\n

For the Motion Detector<\/a>, Go!Motion<\/a>, or Texas Instruments CBR 2<\/a>, the black mesh\/gold film transducers cannot<\/em> be repaired if dented or punctured.<\/p>\n

Avoiding Future Damage<\/h3>\n

To avoid such damage, we recommend protecting your motion detector when doing simple harmonic motion experiments where weights are suspended over the sensor. A simple wire in-basket can be placed over the motion detector to protect the sensor without introducing interference. Other tips for good results:<\/p>\n

  • Tape the mass to the spring so that it does not fall off.<\/li>\n
  • Do not pull the mass to the bottom of the cycle, then release it up. Instead, start the oscillation by releasing the mass downward from near the top of the cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
