Connect your sensor as described in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/get-started\/go-direct\">Getting Started instructions for your device<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Primary Test:<\/strong> After connecting the sensor, blow on the front, bottom part of the sensor, CO<sub>2<\/sub> levels should increase. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Secondary Test: <\/strong>TBD<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Storage and Sensor Maintenance<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is recommended for long term storage to store the sensor in a sealed bag, such as the bag that is included with the sensor. This will help prevent dust accumulation and exposure to any moisture or other elements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over time if the sensor has been exposed to a high particulate environments (eg. car exhaust pipe, wood working room, wood burning fireplace), filters on the front plate will get dirty. For accurate readings, some sensors have specific requirements.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PARTICULATE MATTER<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After using in very dusty or dirty conditions, or if the Air Quality sensor has been stored out in the open, it is recommended the particulate matter sensor go through a cleaning cycle. To initiate a cleaning cycle<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launch the app, and connect the sensor. The PM2.5 channel should already be enabled, if not, turn it on.<\/li>\n<li>Wait for the Sensor warm-up LED (\u2714) to turn green.<\/li>\n<li>Click or tap the PM2.5 meter and choose Calibrate. <\/li>\n<li>Click Calibrate, the Sensor warm-up LED (\u2714) will turn orange as the cleaning cycle takes place.<\/li>\n<li>Click or tap Done.<\/li>\n<li>When the Sensor warm-up LED (\u2714) turns green again, the sensor is ready to use. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CARBON DIOXIDE<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For most accurate readings, the CO<sub>2<\/sub> sensor needs to be exposed to fresh air at least every 7 days.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>BAROMETRIC PRESSURE<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To accurately report barometric pressure, this channel needs to know your current elevation. This only needs to be done once if you are not changing elevations. Each time you move to a different elevation, this channel will need to be adjusted with a calibration. To enter your current elevation, follow these instructions.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launch the app, connect the sensor, and turn on the Barometric Pressure channel, if not already enabled.<\/li>\n<li>Click or tap the Barometric Pressure meter and choose Calibrate.<\/li>\n<li>Enter your elevation in meters.
