This document details a method for transferring data collected with LabQuest App to a computer so the data can be opened in a spreadsheet app such as Excel, OpenOffice, Numbers, or Google Sheets.<\/p>\n

Method 1<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Using an SD card (original LabQuest and LabQuest 2 only) or USB Flash Drive<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Insert an SD card or connect a USB Flash drive to your LabQuest.<\/li>\n
  2. In LabQuest App, choose Export<\/strong> from the File menu.<\/li>\n
  3. Select your media (SD card or Flash Drive), name the file, then tap OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Transfer the SD card or Flash Drive to your computer.<\/li>\n
  5. Open a spreadsheet program, and select to open a file.<\/li>\n
  6. Adjust the file filter to look for all files (*.*). (Note:<\/strong> The exported file is a <\/em>.TXT file.<\/em>)<\/li>\n
  7. Navigate to your saved file and choose Open<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Method 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Using LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3 to transfer the file using email<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Set up your LabQuest 2 or LabQuest 3 to support sending emails.

    2. In LabQuest App, choose Email \u25b6 Text File…<\/strong> from the File menu.<\/li>\n
    3. Enter the email address of the desired recipient(s), then tap Send<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    4. On the device that received the email, open the email and save the file in your desired location.<\/li>\n
    5. Open a spreadsheet program, and select to open a file.<\/li>\n
    6. Adjust the file filter to look for all files (*.*). (Note:<\/strong> The emailed file is a <\/em>.TXT file.<\/em>)<\/li>\n
    7. Navigate to your saved file and choose Open<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note: <\/strong>The exported or emailed .TXT files may not open directly in your spreadsheet program. If that is the case, open the file in a text editor (e.g. NotePad), then copy and paste the data into your spreadsheet.<\/p>\n
