The sensors needs to be placed above a liquid sample. The use of <a href=\"\/product\/tape-for-ethanol-sensor\/\">Tape for Ethanol Sensor<\/a> (<nobr>ETH-TAPE<\/nobr>) (one roll is included with purchase of the sensor) will protect the sensing element if it accidentally splashed or briefly submerged in the sample during data-collection.<\/p>\n<p>Submerging the sensor in liquid will not give accurate results and will damage the sensor. Please note that using the sensor in a liquid falls outside normal use.
