These problems typically stem from a USB compatibility issue that occurs with certain SpectroVis Plus units and some LabQuest 2 or 3 devices. This issue can be particularly frustrating as it may only occur intermittently.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Try the following:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure you are using the latest version of LabQuest software.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For LabQuest 2, software version 2.9 or newer <br \/>Free Update available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/downloads\/labquest-2-updates\/\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/downloads\/labquest-2-updates\/\">https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/downloads\/labquest-2-updates\/<\/a><\/a><\/li>\n<li>For LabQuest 3, software version 3.0.7 or newer.<br \/>Free Update available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/downloads\/labquest-3-updates\/\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/downloads\/labquest-3-updates\/\">https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/downloads\/labquest-3-updates\/<\/a><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Reboot the LabQuest.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LabQuest 2\u268aHome > System > Reboot<\/li>\n<li>LabQuest 3\u268aChoose Reboot from the Settings screen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Check your USB cable \u2013 Make sure it works properly.<\/li>\n<li>Try a shorter USB cable, if available.<\/li>\n<li>Remove any USB adapters or converters from the connection.<\/li>\n<li>Use a USB hub between the LabQuest and the spectrometer.<\/li>\n<li>If possible, use a powered USB hub \u2014 this is often the most effective fix for connection issues.<\/li>\n<li>Test the spectrometer on a computer running the free Spectral Analysis software to confirm it works independently.<\/li>\n<li>Try connecting to a different LabQuest 2 or LabQuest 3 to rule out hardware-specific issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If it is a Go Direct SpectroVis Plus:<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not connect the AC power to the spectrometer.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the battery from the unit.<\/li>\n<li>see Full Power Reset Instructions in <a href=\"\/til\/4091\/\">My Go Direct SpectroVis Plus is not identified or won't turn on.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Also see <a href=\"\/til\/2354\/\">My Spectrometer is not working properly. It won't calibrate or is giving very noisy data.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If the problem persists, please contact Vernier Technical Support (email chemistry@vernier.com) and provide the following details:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The model of spectrometer: SpectroVis Plus or Go Direct SpectroVis Plus. Include the serial number of the spectrometer.<\/li>\n<li>Software version of the LabQuest.
