{"id":3010,"date":"2013-07-18T23:31:43","date_gmt":"2013-07-19T06:31:43","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2021-03-02T15:05:30","modified_gmt":"2021-03-02T23:05:30","slug":"3010","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/3010","title":{"rendered":"How do I print to the HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401n,dn,dne,dw printers?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"notice\" style=\"border: 1px solid red; padding: 1em; text-align: center; margin-bottom: 1em;\">\n<h3>This information pertains to the original LabQuest and LabQuest 2.<\/h3>\n<p>If you have a LabQuest 2, see <a href=\"\/til\/8385\/\">this article<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Before following these instructions to add the driver for the HP LaserJet Pro 400, your LabQuest version must be 1.7 or LabQuest 2 must be version 2.2 &#8211; if you need to update, go here:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/labquest\/updates\/\">https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/labquest\/updates\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>NOTE: This update does not work for printing via USB with the LabQuest 2. It only works for printing via a network connection. (The original LabQuest works with both USB and with a network.)<\/p>\n<p>When you have the latest LabQuest App, follow these instructions:<\/p>\n<p>1. Download the printer update file here:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.vernier.com\/download\/HPLaserJetPro400.lqa\">http:\/\/www2.vernier.com\/download\/HPLaserJetPro400.lqa<\/a><br \/>\n2. Copy the downloaded file to a newly-formatted USB flash drive.<br \/>\n3. Power the LabQuest and wait for the main application screen to appear.<br \/>\n4. Plug the USB flash drive into the LabQuest.<br \/>\n5. After about 10 seconds, a message about installing the fix appears for 15 seconds and is replaced by this message &#8220;Installation has succeeded&#8221;.<br \/>\n6. The update is finished &#8211; you may remove the USB thumb drive.<br \/>\n7. Remove any HP LaserJet 400 printer entries from LabQuest printer configurations (if it is still listed).<br \/>\n8. With the LabQuest connected via wifi to the same network as the printer, scan for printers in the Printer Configuration screen.<br \/>\n9. Select the printer from the list (it may show itself as NPI96A9DD) and tap Install.<br \/>\n10.Now try printing.<\/p>\n<p>If you are still getting error messages while trying to print, please call Vernier Technical Support at 888-837-6437.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This information pertains to the original LabQuest and LabQuest 2.
