The video plays back as a black box because Logger <i>Pro<\/i> doesn&#8217;t have access to the necessary codec (video compression rules). <\/p>\n<p>Workarounds include:<br \/>\n&#8211; Capture the video using a different camera that produces videos that can be opened in Logger <i>Pro<\/i> on Windows.<br \/>\n&#8211; Play the video on a Mac. Frequently the video will work normally on a Mac running Logger <i>Pro<\/i>.<br \/>\n&#8211; Re-compress the video into a compatible format.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to re-compress the video, there are several programs that can do this. We most often use Handbrake, a free program available at:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/handbrake.fr\/downloads.php\">https:\/\/handbrake.fr\/downloads.php<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are the settings we recommend:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/files\/til\/images\/3035-handbrake-settings.png\" class=\"border\" alt=\"3035-handbrake-settings.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As with many video compression programs, there are many choices for the video settings.
