{"id":3276,"date":"2014-10-04T23:35:48","date_gmt":"2014-10-05T06:35:48","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-02-21T14:48:33","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T22:48:33","slug":"3276","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/3276","title":{"rendered":"How do I configure the data-collection software to use a sensor that does not Auto-ID?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-kb-palette-12-background-color has-background\"><strong>Graphical Analysis app does not support sensors that don&#8217;t Auto-ID.<\/strong><br \/>Use these sensors with LabQuest App or Logger <em>Pro<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Generally, sensors built before we implemented the &#8220;Auto-ID&#8221; feature (~2002) require manual setup every time you use the sensor. This also affects a few newer sensors (e.g., <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/product-category\/?category=qubit\">Qubit sensors<\/a>, <a href=\"\/product\/vernier-structures-materials-tester\/\">Vernier Structures &amp; Materials Tester<\/a> (<nobr>VSMT<\/nobr>) position sensor, and <a href=\"\/product\/polarimeter-chemical\/\">Polarimeter (Chemical)<\/a> (<nobr>CHEM-POL<\/nobr>) angle sensor), too. Below are instructions for manually setting up the sensor.<\/p>\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using Logger <em>Pro<\/em> Software<\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From the Experiment menu, select Set Up Sensors \u25b6Show All Interfaces.
