{"id":3463,"date":"2019-12-31T15:09:49","date_gmt":"2019-12-31T23:09:49","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2020-12-11T16:00:36","modified_gmt":"2020-12-12T00:00:36","slug":"3463","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/3463","title":{"rendered":"Why is my VSMT force sensor stuck at a high reading (>1000 N)?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are at least two possible causes for the force sensor to read a high constant value.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>It has been stressed beyond its capacity and the strain gauge has been physically damaged.<\/li>\n<li>The wiring has been damaged and has been short circuited, making the sensor read a constant high voltage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In either case the load cell must be returned for repair.
