{"id":3489,"date":"2015-07-13T17:59:00","date_gmt":"2015-07-14T00:59:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2020-09-12T08:04:28","modified_gmt":"2020-09-12T15:04:28","slug":"3489","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/til\/3489","title":{"rendered":"How is the Vernier Circuit Board 2 different from the original Vernier Circuit Board?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"\/product\/vernier-circuit-board-2\/\">Vernier Circuit Board 2<\/a> (<nobr>VCB2<\/nobr>) includes all of the components that are included on the Vernier Circuit Board (VCB, <em>discontinued<\/em>) with the same pin numbers, with the following additions:<\/p>\n<p>47 k\u03a9 resistor<br \/>\n1 uF capacitor<br \/>\n5 mH inductor with powdered iron core (available separately as <a href=\"\/product\/inductor\/\">Inductor<\/a> (<nobr>IND<\/nobr>))<br \/>\nbuzzer<br \/>\n1 k\u03a9 linear potentiometer<\/p>\n<p>Any Vernier lab activities that require the Vernier Circuit Board can be done with the Vernier Circuit Board 2, with no change to the instructions, since the pin numbers are the same.<\/p>\n<p>The Vernier Circuit Board 2 also offers different power options than the original Vernier Circuit Board. Instead of 3 V provided by two D cell batteries, the Vernier Circuit Board 2 uses up to 4 AA cells, with access to one, two, three, or all four providing potential difference.
