Here are some tips to ensure proper storage over a long break.<\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt><b>Go Direct Products<\/b><\/dt>\n<dd>Do not leave them charging &#8211; better to leave them in a static state rather than charging. If you have a <a href=\"\/product\/go-direct-charge-station\/\">Go Direct<sup>&reg;<\/sup> Charge Station<\/a> (<nobr>GDX-CRG<\/nobr>), you can simply remove power to the station and leave the sensors in each bay.<\/p>\n<p>Do not remove the battery &#8211; Go Direct products power down to tiny levels of current draw and should be fine over the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Store in a cool, dry place &#8211; best not to leave them in a sunny window or other high-heat extreme for the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Follow any specific probe instructions for storage &#8211; (such as pH, O<sub>2<\/sub>, etc)<\/dd>\n<dt><b>LabQuest 3, LabQuest 2, LabQuest Stream, and Original LabQuest<\/b><\/dt>\n<dd>If your school storage area is especially hot when the air conditioning is off for the summer, we recommend that you keep batteries in a location that remains cool. For details, see <a href=\"\/til\/2018\/\">What is the best way to store LabQuest units over summer vacation?<\/a><\/dd>\n<dd><b><a href=\"\/product\/labquest-2\/\">LabQuest 2<\/a> (<nobr>LABQ2<\/nobr>) and <a href=\"\/product\/labquest-3\/\">LabQuest 3<\/a> (<nobr>LABQ3<\/nobr>)<br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"margin-bottom-1\">\n<li>Turn LabQuest completely off.<br \/>\n(Hold power button until the shutdown countdown is shown and wait for the countdown to complete.)<\/li>\n<li>Remove the battery.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the charger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dd><b><a href=\"\/product\/labquest-stream\/\">LabQuest Stream<\/a> (<nobr>LQ-STREAM<\/nobr>)<br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"margin-bottom-1\">\n<li>Turn completely off.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the battery.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the charger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dd><b>Original LabQuest<\/b><\/p>\n<ul class=\"margin-bottom-1\">\n<li>Turn LabQuest off (hold the power button down for 3 seconds).<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the charger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<dt>pH Sensors and ORP Sensors<\/dt>\n<dd>Store your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/sensors\/ph-sensors\/\">pH Sensors<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/sensors\/orp-bta\/\">Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP) Sensors<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/accessories\/bnc-electrodes\/\">BNC electrodes<\/a> vertically in the storage solution provided.<\/p>\n<p>The storage solution should be refreshed periodically, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/accessories\/ph-ss\/\">replacement solution can be purchased<\/a>, if needed.<\/dd>\n<dt>Colorimeter<\/dt>\n<dd>Make sure no liquid (either in a cuvette or spilled) is inside your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/sensors\/col-bta\/\">Colorimeter<\/a>.<\/dd>\n<dt>O2 Gas Sensors<\/dt>\n<dd>Store your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/sensors\/o2-bta\/\">Oxygen Gas Sensors<\/a> upright using the 250 mL Nalgene bottle that was shipped with the sensor.<\/dd>\n<dt>Dissolved Oxygen Probes<\/dt>\n<dd>Make sure your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/sensors\/dissolved-oxygen-probes\/\">Dissolved Oxygen Probes<\/a> are completely dry after emptying the filling solution and rinsing the sensor electrode and cap.<\/dd>\n<dt>Optical DO Probes<\/dt>\n<dd>The humid environment of the storage bottles in which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/sensors\/dissolved-oxygen-probes\/odo-bta\/\">Optical DO Probes<\/a> are shipped is ideal for long-term storage. If the yellow sponge at the bottom of the storage bottle dries out, add a few drops of distilled water.<\/dd>\n<dt>Ion-Selective Electrodes<\/dt>\n<dd>Keep your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vernier.com\/products\/sensors\/ion-selective-electrodes\/\">Ion-Selective Electrodes<\/a> in the humid environment of the storage bottles in which they were shipped.
