Go Direct sensors running older firmware should be updated. While sensors with older firmware will work with Graphical Analysis and LabQuest App, there can be differences in software features and behavior compared to sensors running the newest firmware.<\/p>\n

  1. Launch Graphical Analysis<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Connect your sensor and look for firmware update information in the sensor connection box.
    Note:<\/strong> If the sensor is already connected, use the Sensor Setup button, \"\", to access the sensor connection box.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Only sensors having a critical firmware update available will show as needing an update in Graphical Analysis app.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    LabQuest 2 or LabQuest 3<\/h3>\n

    1. Connect your sensor via wireless or USB connection.<\/li>\n
    2. Once connected, a dialog will be shown when a firmware update is available for that sensor. <\/i><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Only sensors having a critical firmware update available will show as needing an update in LabQuest App.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

      Go Direct Firmware Updater App<\/h3>\n

      1. Close all other Vernier apps running on your computer.<\/li>\n
      2. Connect your sensor via USB connection.<\/li>\n
      3. Launch the Go Direct Firmware Updater app.
        If a firmware update is available, you will see the \"\" button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The Go Direct Firmware Updater app<\/strong><\/a> will show both critical and non-critical firmware updates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

        Updating the Firmware<\/h2>\n

        You must use a Mac or Windows computer running the Go Direct Firmware Updater app<\/strong><\/a> to update firmware. Do not use a virtual machine such as VMWare on a Mac while updating the firmware. Updates will fail if a virtual machine is running. Only use the Go Direct Firmware Updater application on the host operating system for firmware updates, and shut down or pause any virtual machines before starting firmware updates.<\/p>\n

        1. Launch the Go Direct Firmware Updater app on a Windows or macOS computer. Close any Vernier apps running on that device.<\/li>\n
        2. Connect the sensor to the computer via USB. You cannot update sensors with a Bluetooth connection.<\/li>\n
        3. If there is new firmware available for the connected sensor, you will see an \u201cUpdate Firmware\u201d button, \"\". <\/li>\n
        4. Click or tap the Update Firmware button next to the sensor you want to update.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          IMPORTANT:<\/strong> Do not disconnect the USB cable, close the application, or turn off your computer until the update process is complete.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
