Educators can access the new ‘Vernier Connections® powered by Penda’ platform for STEM education starting in the 2025-26 school year.

Vernier Science Education is partnering with Penda Learning, provider of an innovative interactive science learning platform, to offer a new integrated solution that strengthens hands-on and digital science instruction. The new Vernier Connections powered by Penda will launch for the 2025-26 school year and be showcased at the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) National Conference in Philadelphia on March 26‑29, 2025.

“Our mission is to make science learning engaging and accessible for all students,” said Brad Baird, CEO of Penda Learning. “By connecting Vernier’s high‑quality lab technology and investigations with our gamified, phenomenon-based activities, we are making it easier for teachers to provide real‑world, hands‑on experiences while reinforcing key concepts through interactive digital learning.”

By combining Vernier’s widely‑used sensors, data‑collection tools, and investigations with Penda Learning’s interactive science activities, this integration will provide educators with a seamless way to connect real-world experimentation with digital reinforcement. Designed to support three‑dimensional learning as outlined by A Framework for K-12 Science Education and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), this collaboration enables students to visualize and analyze real‑time data within Penda’s platform, deepen their understanding of core scientific principles, and strengthen their STEM skills.

“As schools navigate growing demands for high‑quality science education, they need solutions that are both engaging and effective in delivering real‑world scientific learning,” said Jill Hedrick, CEO of Vernier Science Education. “For more than 40 years, we have worked side‑by‑side with educators to design technology that enhances hands‑on investigations and drives meaningful student learning outcomes. With this partnership, we are extending that expertise by ensuring real‑time data collected in the classroom translates directly into interactive digital learning experiences. This is about making science more accessible, rigorous, and relevant so students don’t just learn about science, but actually do science.”

Through this partnership, educators will have access to Vernier Connections powered by Penda, a new solution that allows real‑time data from Vernier’s sensors to flow directly into Penda Learning’s platform. This integration supports multimodal learning, ensuring all students can engage meaningfully with scientific concepts. By streamlining the connection between lab activities, investigations, and digital content, Vernier Connections powered by Penda helps educators maximize instructional time while reinforcing science concepts through data‑driven inquiry.

This partnership underscores the companies’ commitments to equipping educators with the tools they need to foster curiosity, build critical thinking skills, and help students become STEM literate.
