Preview Policy

Most Vernier products are available for a 30-day preview (or longer, if requested) to educational institutions.

Satisfaction Guarantee

Any product that does not meet your needs may be returned within 30 days for a full refund, subject to the Product Return policy. Products returned after 30 days may be subject to a restocking fee. These terms are valid for purchases made by educational institutions only. See the Product Return section below for details.

Designed for Educational Use

Vernier products are designed for educational use. Our products are not designed nor are they recommended for any industrial, medical, or commercial process such as life support, patient diagnosis, control of a manufacturing process, or industrial testing of any kind.

We design our products with the specifications and features that educators and students need to be successful. In our effort to keep our products affordable and easy to use, we may not meet the specifications or include the features that an industrial scientist or medical professional might want. Vernier Software

Vernier iOS software is available through the Apple App Store. Vernier Android software is available through Google Play.

Sales and Distribution

Vernier software, applications and products contain materials that are subject to protection under various United States and other copyright, trade secret, and other rights. Except as explicitly permitted by written license from Vernier, no Vernier product may be sold, copied, distributed, published, or reproduced in any form or by any media.

Terms of Sale

Vernier’s sensors, lab equipment, peripheral devices, and other products (“Products”) are governed by the Terms of Sale listed below, which are governed by and part of our Terms of Use.  All orders placed for Products are subject to Vernier’s acceptance. We may accept, decline, or place limits on your order for any reason.

Prices and Shipping

Prices are stated at the time of purchase or order and may not include shipping and handling charges or applicable taxes, which, if applicable, will be communicated to you before you place your order. Prices are effective January 1, each year and supersede previously published prices. Prices are in U.S. dollars and are F.O.B. Shipping Point. Shipping charges may vary, depending on the method of shipment. Increased shipping charges for heavier or bulkier items may apply due to weight or dimensions. Applicable sales tax may be charged. Product Return

A Return Merchandise Authorization, available from Vernier, is required for any product return. Products returned for exchange or credit must be in new condition and in its original packaging. Items returned after 30 days of purchase may be subject to a restocking fee. These terms are valid for purchases made by educational institutions only. Exchanges or credit for purchases made by other types of entities must be requested within 30 days of purchase and the equipment must be unused and in its original packaging. Restocking fees may apply.

Limited Warranty

Most Vernier-branded products carry a five-year limited warranty. During the warranty period, Vernier will repair or replace the item if there is a defect in materials or workmanship. Outside the warranty, Vernier will attempt to repair most products, often at no charge. This limited warranty covers products when used by educational institutions only. See full warranty policy»

Import and Export

Vernier software, applications, or products may be subject to import and export laws and regulations in the United States and elsewhere. You must comply with all domestic and international import and export laws and regulations that apply in connection with the software, application, or product. These laws may include restrictions on destinations, users, or end use.

Use of Vernier Media Content

Permission to republish content from Vernier’s printed materials and media content may be obtained by submitting the media permission request form.
