In most cases you will only need to send in the main body of the unit as shown below. This is true if you need service for either sensor (load cell, or displacement) or the electronics. Vernier Technical Support will advise you regarding what is appropriate for your repair.

Sending this portion of the unit reduces the cost of shipping. To accomplish this you will need a 5/32″ hex wrench. You can follow the assembly documents in reverse order to most effectively accomplish this (attached).

You should consult with Vernier Technical Support at 1-888-837-6437 and receive an RMA email, before sending the sensor in for repair.
