Digital Radiation Monitor (DRM-BTD, discontinued) shipped before April 2009 included a cable that is not wired correctly. The cable will work for low count rates, but it will not allow for high count rates. Many users will never know of the problem if they only use low activity sources.

Starting in April 2009 the cable is wired correctly, and high count rates are possible.

Unfortunately there is no visual way to determine if the cable is correctly wired. Test for continuity between pin 1 of the BTD connector and the tip (not the ring) of the stereo mini plug. Bad cables will be open.
