The Vernier Energy Counter spends 30 seconds collecting energy data once the Start/Reset button is pressed. Then the integrated display remains on, showing the total energy generated, for 2 minutes, unless the Start/Reset button is pressed again to restore the Live View.
Once the display turns off, the unit is powered off. This saves battery power. However, there is no memory, and the measured energy value is lost when the unit powers off.
We recommend students record the energy value in their notebook before the display turns off.
