Note that most people that ask this question are trying to open the book template experiment files from Logger Pro in Graphical Analysis. This isn’t recommended. For people that are using Graphical Analysis what we recommend you do is get the Graphical Analysis specific version of the book from your account How do I access my lab books from my account on the Vernier website?, and follow the instructions in the book: it will walk you through how to do the lab and you don’t need the Logger Pro specific files.

In order to open a file created in Logger Pro in Graphical Analysis, the data must be exported as a .csv file.

  1. In Logger Pro, collect data or open the file of interest.
  2. Export the file as a .csv file: click File > Export and select .csv. Save this file to a location of your choosing.
  3. In Graphical Analysis, when you open the app select “Choose File” on the right side, (if Graphical Analysis is already open, choose “Open…” from the File menu.).
  4. In the lower right of the “Select a file to open” dialog, it will say “Vernier Graphical Analysis”, click on that and choose “Comma Separated Values *.csv”.
  5. Select the file from the saved location.
  6. You will need to click on the y-column label to choose the appropriate column of data and the data set. Select the appropriate column for the x-axis if necessary.
