All marine mammals have a reflex for diving in cold water. When cold water contacts the face and nostrils during a dive, heart rate and cardiac output decrease dramatically as blood is shunted away from the extremities and directed to the vital organs. A much smaller version of the diving reflex occurs in humans. In this webinar, we will demonstrate how you can teach your students this biological concept using our Vernier Graphical Analysis™ Pro app, Vernier sensors, and a large bowl of cold water.
