The information below is relevant if using specific Vernier interfaces (LabPro, original LabQuest, LabQuest Mini, and LabQuest Stream) connected to a Windows computer running Logger Pro (3.14.1 or newer) or Logger Lite (v1.9.3 or newer).

Important notes: There are other Vernier interfaces that use other drivers; they aren’t covered in this information (e.g., LabQuest 2). Also, if you have an older version of Logger Pro or Logger Lite, the drivers may be different. See:
Are the LabQuest 2 device drivers installed correctly?

Windows Pre-Logger Pro 3.11 original LabQuest and LabQuest Mini, and pre-3.12 LabPro drivers

Multiple drivers can be installed on your computer, but only one of them will work with the latest versions of Logger Pro and Logger Lite. To identify if the correct drivers are installed on the computer, use the Windows Device Manager. You can open the Device Manager from the left pane of System Properties. Instructions for opening System Properties are:
What version of Windows am I running? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit?

If the drivers are installed correctly, they will be displayed in the Vernier WinUSB Bulk Sys Devices section. Click the little triangle next to the Vernier WinUSB Bulk Sys Devices to drop down the menu and find out if the driver is located in this section.

Note: The Vernier WinUSB Bulk Sys Devices section is only visible when the interface is connected to the computer.

If you have the correct driver installed and are still unable to connect to Logger Pro or Logger Lite, contact Vernier Technical Support at 888.837.6437 or info@vernier.com

If you don’t see Vernier WinUSB Bulk Sys Devices in the Device Manager:
Do you have a Jungo or VSTJungo section in the Device Manager?

If the interface is listed in either of those sections, see:
Converting from Jungo to WinUSB drivers manually

Is the interface listed in Other Devices or do you see an Unknown Device that comes and goes as you plug/unplug the interface?

This normally only happens if the software wasn’t installed at all, or if you are installing older versions of Logger Pro (pre-v3.14.1) or Logger Lite (pre-v1.9.3) after Aug 20, 2017. In either case, install the latest version of Logger Pro or Logger Lite.

If you can’t find the interface anywhere in the Device Manager, it could be that there is a hardware issue with either the interface or the cable that you are using to connect the interface to the computer. If you have multiple interfaces and cables, systematically try to identify if there is an issue with a particular cable or interface. Contact Vernier Software Technical Support at 888.837.6437 or info@vernier.com if you need an interface repaired.
