Using Chemistry Instruments with Android

Get Instrumental Analysis

Instrumental Analysis is our free application to collect, graph, and analyze data from select Vernier chemistry instruments. If you don't have Instrumental Analysis installed, please download and install it first.

Instrumental Analysis in a Browser
You can also use Instrumental Analysis in a Chrome browser. See instructions for Instrumental Analysis in a browser. Note: To collect data from chemistry instruments via USB (when supported on your Android device), follow the browser instructions.

Connect Your Chemistry Instrument Using Bluetooth®

  1. Ensure your chemistry instrument is charged or connected to a power source.
  2. Turn the instrument on (the Bluetooth LED will flash red).
  3. Launch Instrumental Analysis.
  4. Click or tap .
  5. Choose your instrument from the list of discovered devices.
    • Your sensor’s ID is located near the barcode on the sensor label.
    • You can type part of your sensor’s ID in the  to quickly find your sensor.
    • The Bluetooth LED on the instrument will flash green when successfully connected.
  6. If you are using a Go Direct Mini GC, you can change the default sensor channels.
    1. Click or tap  .
    2. Select the sensor channels you want to use.
  7. Click or tap .
  8. Select the appropriate experiment type for your instrument. Follow the software instructions to continue with data collection.
