If you’re an active high school science, math, or STEM educator full of passion, innovation, and enthusiasm for hands-on learning, you’ll fit right in with the Trendsetters Community.
Trendsetters bring the following credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching, education, science, math, or engineering
- 5+ years of instructional experience
- Expertise in implementing NGSS or state standards
- Understanding of current Vernier technology

What is the Vernier Trendsetters Community?
A network of high school educators committed to advancing STEM education through collaboration, leadership, and the innovative use of Vernier technology.
When is the application deadline?
Applications are accepted year-round, and submitted applications are processed as they are received.
In regards to official announcements, the next cohort of teachers will be officially announced in January 2026. These educators will join or have joined other selected Trendsetters in the Community who are similarly passionate about growing in their leadership and knowledge, learning from community, and using data-collection and analysis technology to deliver modern, relevation STEM instruction.
What are the requirements to join?
If you are a science, math, and/or STEM high school educator excited to share how you implement data-collection technology in your instruction and who strives to inspire a new generation of STEM-literate individuals, we would love to hear from you.
We are seeking Trendsetters who:
- Are a graduate of a higher education institution and have a bachelor’s degree in teaching, education, science, mathematics, and/or engineering
- Are state/federally certified in teaching science and/or mathematics
- Have at least five years of instructional experience in science, mathematics, and/or engineering within a classroom setting
- Have knowledge and instructional experience in implementing the NGSS or state standards
- Are an active educator who is currently teaching science, mathematics, and/or engineering in a classroom setting
- Have a clear and in-depth understanding of current Vernier technology, including the Go Direct® family of sensors and Vernier Graphical Analysis® software
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with and respect other professionals.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Have a spirit of service and academic excellence
- Are committed, dedicated, innovative, empathetic, and enthusiastic
Do I really get to choose the time commitment?
As a member of the Vernier Trendsetters Community, you will be invited to participate in free professional development sessions. You can determine your own time commitment by choosing to accept only the sessions or activities that interest you. Trendsetters are asked to meet a minimum level of 1–2 activities each month to maintain active status in the Community.
- Participate in or host virtual webinars from the comfort of your own classroom.
- Author content with Vernier (i.e., blog posts, videos, social media content, etc.).
- Publish articles in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Join in the conversation each month during Coffee Chats with other Trendsetters.
- Attend virtual or in-person training opportunities.
- Collaborate with Vernier about programming, curriculum, or upcoming products.
- Present in-person workshops for other STEM educators.
Each activity you participate in earns you points for classroom technology, merchandise, or in some cases, the ability to attend conferences.
