    Dr. Elaine Nam, Ph.D.

    I am the Director of Chemistry at Vernier Software & Technology and have 10 years of college chemistry teaching experience. I received my Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Washington where my work focused on synthesis of cysteinate-ligated, non-heme iron enzyme analogues.

    One of my passions is science education. I have presented at the American Chemical Society meetings and have given talks about STEM education. As a member of the American Chemical Society, I have served as Secretary for the local Portland section.

  • Melissa Hill, Ph.D.

    Dr. Melissa Hill, Ph.D.

    I earned my Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry from the University of California at Davis. I started working at Vernier Software & Technology in 2010, after teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses for seven years.

    My focus at Vernier is developing college-level chemistry instruments, including the Polarimeter, the Mini GC Plus, the Vernier UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, and the Vernier Fluorescence/UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, among others.
