Go Direct® Sensor Cart Wins a Tech & Learning TCEA 2018 Best of Show Award

The new Go Direct Sensor Cart was recently named a winner of Tech & Learning’s TCEA 2018 Best of Show Awards. The awards program recognizes standout products on display at this year’s TCEA Convention & Exposition in Austin, TX. The winners were selected by an anonymous panel of educator judges who rated products on a sliding scale, evaluating areas such as quality and effectiveness, ease of use, and creative use of technology. The judges ultimately chose products that will have the most impact in the classroom.

Middle school, high school, and college physics students can use the completely wireless Go Direct Sensor Cart to easily explore force, position, velocity, and acceleration directly on their devices supporting Bluetooth® wireless technology with no additional equipment required. The cost-effective cart, which is the latest addition to the popular Vernier dynamics cart system, reduces experiment setup time and allows basic experiments to be conducted on or off a track.

Go Direct Sensor Cart is an ideal technology for hands-on kinematics and dynamics demonstrations. It comes equipped with built-in sensors, including an encoder wheel to report force, position, and velocity; a 3-axis accelerometer to measure independent acceleration; and a 50 N force sensor to measure push and pulls. These sensors can also be used independently in a variety of other experiments such as hanging a mass and spring from the force sensor to study simple harmonic motion or attaching the cart to a turntable to study centripetal acceleration.

Additional features include mass trays for changing total mass, a plunger for collision and impulse studies, low friction wheels for uniform motion, and exchangeable magnetic and hook-and-pile inserts for elastic and inelastic collisions.
