Perform all of the same investigations as the Basic Wind Experiment Kit with the ability to generate more power at higher voltages (0.5 V–20 V). Discover advanced concepts of wind turbine technology, including gearboxes and generator construction (with the GenPack add-on). Students can use the blades they design to generate electricity, lift weights, and pump water. This kit is perfect for grades 7–12 and college. All you need to add is a wind source, basic tools, and imagination!

Classroom Pack

The classroom pack includes materials for eight groups of 2 to 4 students each. Each group independently assembles hubs and blade sets. To evaluate designs, students use one of three teacher-built‚ “test stations”‚ that include a tower, base, and generator.

Note: The Advanced Wind Experiment Kit and Classroom Pack do not include basic tools (glue, scissors, screwdriver, etc.) or a multimeter. You can measure current and voltage from the turbines using a Vernier Energy Sensor, a load such as the Vernier Variable Load or Resistor Board, and an interface.
