If your Go Direct SpectroVis Plus (GDX-SVISPL) is disconnecting unexpectedly while using Bluetooth, try the following steps to improve stability:
✅ 1. Ensure the Battery Is Fully Charged
A low battery is the most common cause of dropped Bluetooth connections.
- Charge the device overnight using the AC power adapter.
- The battery indicator LED should turn green when fully charged.
✅ 2. Disconnect Any USB Cables
The spectrometer’s Bluetooth radio will not function reliably if the USB cable is plugged into a computer or platform.
- Unplug the USB cable before using Bluetooth.
- Bluetooth can work while connected to AC power, but not with USB data connections.
✅ 3. Perform a Full Power Reset of the spectrometer
- Unplug all cables (USB, AC).
- Remove the battery.
- Wait one full minute.
- Reconnect the AC power adapter only (leave the battery out).
- Press the power button:
- If LEDs turn on, reinsert the battery and retry Bluetooth.
- If not, connect via USB to confirm it’s recognized, then repeat the steps.
✅ 4. Use the Latest Version of Software
Use Spectral Analysis v4.4 or newer.
LabQuest 2 and LabQuest 3 do not support Bluetooth connections with Go Direct spectrometers.
✅ 5. Restart Your Device
Power off and restart your phone, tablet, or computer to reset the Bluetooth connection cache.
